RUMI DAF ENSEMBLE

In 2019, Jalal Kimia, alongside his advanced students and musician friends, established the "Rumi Daf Ensemble", which is based in the Washington DC area. As an active music organization, the primary mission of the "Rumi Daf Ensemble" is to showcase and preserve Iranian Culture & Art, both within and beyond the borders of the United States.

Moreover, the ensemble is dedicated to introducing and familiarizing the younger generation and non-Iranian community with the Daf instrument, a revered and ancient musical instrument.

Over the years, the Rumi Daf Ensemble has presented a multitude of performances and showcases, which include:

• Music performance at the COP Gala held in the Carnegie Institute for Science in May

• 2019.

• Music performances for the "Friends of Persian Culture Virtual Conference" consecutively for three years, namely 2020, 2021, and 2022.

• A music concert was held at the F. Scott Fitzgerald Theater in August 2022.

• Participation in the New York Persian Norowz Festival in 2023.

• A performance at the ATA-DC Turkiye earthquake relief concert in 2023.

Looking ahead, the ensemble has plans to host annual music performance concerts, aiming to promote and inspire appreciation for Iranian national musical traditions.
